Scarlett's Mountain

Bring me back to Washington County

Evening has stolen’ the light from the sky

Take me up to Miss Scarlett’s mountain

To dance with a lady with a fire in her eye

I recall a mandolin morning

White River valley was sparkling with dew

I was drawn to Miss Scarlett’s mountain

To be with a lover whose heart was so true

Tired old bed with sheets so warm

The headboard’s bent and the blankets are torn

But her love is good and her arms are warm

And it’s heaven here on earth

It’s heaven here on earth

Steal me away on smoky blue water

Sail me to somewhere to dream all alone

But get me back to Miss Scarlett’s Mountain

‘Cause home’s in the heart when the heart is at home

Tired old bed with sheets so warm

The headboard’s bent and the blankets are torn

But her love is good and her arms are warm

And it’s heaven here on earth

It’s heaven here on earth

Steal me away on smoky blue water

Sail me to somewhere to dream all alone

But get me back to Miss Scarlett’s Mountain

‘Cause home’s in the heart when the heart is at home

Home’s in the heart when the heart is at home

Home’s in the heart when the heart is at home
